Flower Essence Consultation

Flower essences and aromatherapy are two separate modalities often confused with one another. Both use flowering plants to treat emotional and sometimes physical imbalances. However, while the essential oils used in aromatherapy are used specifically for the immediate benefit of their scents, flower essences have no smell and work more subtly to encourage permanent shifts over time.

Flower Essences were developed over 60 years ago by the famous and well-respected immunologist and homeopathic English physician Edward Bach. Working with a wide variety of patients just after the first World War he came to the conclusion that a person's emotional well-being and mental attitude had more to do with health and healing than any medicine he could offer. He eventually left his thriving London practice to move to the country to develop safe herbal homeopathics that addressed the most common emotional problems and their symptoms. His now world famous Bach Flower Remedies were the result.

While flower essences are used similarly to homeopathic formulas—only a small amount is used at one time with remarkable effects—Bach considered them to be an entirely new system of healing. They do not need to be taken separately from other healing modalities. You don't have to worry about interactions with other remedies you may be taking—you don't have to give up peppermint toothpaste or refrain from eating certain foods. But like homeopathics they can work subtly over time for long term healing change or almost instantaneously for symptomatic relief.

Sheryl received her Flower Essence Practitioner training from the Flower Essence Society in 2003 and loves working with essences because they seem to gently lift the toxic effects of emotional and mental patterning. In conjunction with  journaling, meditation or other awareness processes, they can be a lovely adjunct (when needed) to the work we do in spiritual counseling sessions.

Smelling good makes healing fun so Sheryl adds flower essences to 100% organic essential oils and jojoba oil to make custom formulas and a product line she calls Mama Love Healing Perfume Oils.

If you like the idea of using the power of flowers in your healing journey Sheryl would be delighted to act as your guide. Send her an email for more information.
